2018 Austin County Sports Night
Sealy KC Hall - Saturday, July 28, 2018
The second annual Austin County Sports Night was held in Sealy and there were approximately 225 in attendance. Master of Ceremonies Coach Bob Gillis introduced the Coaches from Brazos, Bellville and Sealy High Schools.
The Cross Country Coaches were Eric Stuessel from Brazos, Sharon Carter from Bellville and Anthony Branch from Sealy.
The Volleyball Coaches speaking were Denyse Fernandez from Brazos, Susan Brewer from Bellville and Kimberly Boyd from Sealy.
Football Coaches were Nathan (Ned) Barrier from Brazos, Grady Rowe from Bellville and Shane Mobley from Sealy.
A large silent auction was held that contained items from the Astros, Texans and other sports celebrities. Other items donated by individuals and the Bellville Booster Club were also in the auction.

Stay tuned in September as we bring you the story of the 1938 Bellville Brahmas Football Team. We will recreate the season each week in The Bellville Times and here on the website.
1938 Championship Football Team
The 1938 team had an 11-0 record. Ten of the wins were shutouts, the defense allowing only 13 points and 1,127 yards for the entire season, all of which are still Bellville records. Offensively, they averaged over 40 points and 317 yards rushing per game, also Bellville records. Although there was not a state wide championship in those years, Bellville was the best team in the state, winning their final game, the Regional Championship, 47-0.
