Bellville's playoff appearances have come in: 1933, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1952, 1957, 1959, 1960, 1965, 1976, 1977, 1982, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
1936 was a District playoff game.
District titles have come in 1933, 1937, 1938, 1952, 1957, 1959, 1960, 1967, 1976, 1977, 1986, 1987, 1992, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2013 and 2014.

This is the 74th meeting between Bellville and Columbus. The Brahmas hold a 34-27-2 series lead. Columbus won the series opener 38-7 in 1930, and last year's game 32-23. The Brahmas first win in the series was 25-0 in 1931. Since 2000, Bellville leads the series 9-3-0. The teams played each other every year from 1958-2005, but did not play each other in 2006-2007. They have faced off every year since then. Bellville's most recent series win came in 2012 by a score of 55-6.

This is the eighth meeting between Bellville and Sweeny. The Brahmas lead the series 5-2-0. The series began in 1980 when the Bulldogs beat Bellville 33-0. Bellville won the 1981 game 6-2. Bellville won last year's game 35-21.

This is the 17th meeting beween Bellville and Wharton. The Brahmas hold a 10-6-0 series edge. Bellville won the series opener 20-0 in 1936. Wharton won four straight from 1943-1954, including their first win in 1943, 27-0. The teams did not square off between 1958 and 2008. Since 2008, they have met five times, and Bellville has won all of them. Bellville beat Wharton twice in 2008, once in regular season and in bi-district (31-6) Brahmas won last years game 34-14.

This is just the fifth meeting ever between the Bellville Brahmas and Bay City Black Cats. The series record is 2-2-0. The teams have not played each other in regular season since 1952 when Bellville beat Bay City 7-0 in bi-district. Bay City won the series opener 14-6 in 1937. Bellville won the 1938 bi-district game 22-0. The teams met in Bellville's season debut in 1950 which resulted in an 18-6 Bay City win. Bellville and Bay City did scrimmage each other in both 2012 and 2013.

Bellville and Giddings are no strangers on the football field. This will be the 32nd meeting between the two schools, and the Buffaloes hold an 18-13-0 series lead over the Brahmas. Bellville won the series opener 19-6 in 1929. Giddings won the 1930 game 7-0. Since 2000, the teams have squared off 11 times. During that span Giddings holds a 6-5 lead. Since 2008, they have played six times, and the series is 3-3. Bellville won last year's game 14-0 while Giddings won in 2012, 21-14. In 2008 they played twice. Bellville won the regular season game 20-14, but lost the state quarterfinal game in two overtimes, 21-20. Bellville did beat Giddings 28-18 in bi-district in 2011. The Brahmas biggest win in the series was 45-0 in 1940. Giddings biggest win of 51-0 came in 1948.

This will be the seventh meeting between the Bellville Brahmas and the Stafford Spartans. Bellville holds a 6-0-1 series lead. The teams have not played each other since 2011. The series began in 1990 with a 7-7 tie. Bellville won the 1999 game 19-9. The teams were in the same district from 2002-2003, and again from 2010-2011. Bellville won 35-18 in 2002, 42-14 in 2003, 14-0 in 2010 and 44-13 in 2011.
While last week's 3-0 win over Caldwell was an unusual score, it has happened somewhat recently. Back in 1996 the Brahmas defeated St. Thomas 3-0. This will be the first of two straight home games for the Brahmas, who will be hosting Giddings on September 12th.

This is the 60th meeting between the Bellville Brahmas and Caldwell Hornets. The Brahmas lead the overall series 32-25-2, and have won 10 of the last 14 (since 1998). The series began in 1931 with a 6 - 6 tie. Caldwell won the next meeting 25 - 0 in 1935, but the Brahmas came back and won the 1936 game 12 - 0. Bellville's biggest win in the series of 77 - 15 came in 2012. The Brahmas won last year's game 41 - 14. The Hornets biggest win over the Brahmas was 50 - 0 in 1947. Caldwell was also the only team to score on the unbeaten 1938 Brahmas. Bellville won that game 38 - 13. Bellville is 56-28-1 in season openers.

The Brahmanettes defeated Giddings 3-0 Tuesday night and will advance in the Playoffs to face the Fredericksburg Battlin' Lady Billies. The Lady Billies defeated Somerset 3 - 1. They were 7-3 in District 27 and 23-21 overall.
The match will be played at Cedar Creek HIgh School at 793 Union Chapel Road northwest of Bastrop. A map can be found by clicking here: Map to Cedar Creek High School

The Brahmanettes defeated El Campo and advance to the Playoffs as District 25 AAA Champs. They will face Giddings on Tuesday November 5th at Brenham High School.
The game will be broadcast live on BellvilleSports.com. Pregame starts at 7:00pm with the match starting at 7:30pm.

Bellville continued their District 25 play with a 34 - 20 win over Wharton Friday night. Other scores were Sealy defeating Columbus 35 to 7, and El Campo over Needville 33 to 6. Brookshiore Royal had an open week. The current District 25 3A standings are:

The first Brahma Season Preview is in the books. John, Dan, Steven, Frank and Mike all joined in with a guest appearance by Ed Marcinkiewicz. The returning team was reviewed, along with the entire season. Each game was analyzed with highlights of the opposing teams players, coaches and outlook for 2013.

We picked up a copy of The Old Coach Friday Night Football magazine with twelve of the returning Brahmas pictured on the outside cover and other pictures and schedule on the inside and outside covers. What a great reward for these players and the team!
Of the Top 50 teams, Bellville is ranked 7th. The top 6 from The Old Coach are Carthage, Gilmer, Stephenville, Navasota, Argyle and Kilgore. Of the area teams, El Campo is ranked 10th and La Grange 32nd.
Offensive lineman Robert Young was listed on the All-Class 3A Team.
The predicted order of finish for district 25-3A is Bellville, El Campo, Wharton, Sealy, Columbus, Brookshire Royal and Needville. As for the playoffs, the Brahmas are predicted to make it to the 3A Division 2 State Championship game, but losing to Gilmer for the trophy.

Coach Grady Rowe has announced dates for some preseason activities. The Brahmas will begin practice on Monday, August 5th. As the clock stikes midnight on Thursday, the Brahmas will participate in Midnight Madness to start off a full Friday. This is a full contact scrimmage, giving the fans their first look at the 2013 Brahmas.
The Meet The Brahmas night, including the Volleyball and Cross Country teams, will be later that day starting at 6:00pm.
On August 17th, Bellville wil host Yoakum in a scrimmage beginning at 10:00am. The following Thursday, August 22nd, Bellville will travel to Bay City for their final scrimmage. The season starts on August 30th, as the Brahmas host the Caldwell Hornets at the Pasture of Pain.

Dave Cambell's 2013 Texas Football Magazine has hit the stores and the Bellville Brahmas are ranked 13th in the State in their Class 3A Top 25..
Coming in at No. 1 was Carthage. The top 5 is rounded out by Gilmer, Stephenvville, Argyle and Kilgore. Area teams in the Top 25 are Navasota 7th; La Grange 19th, and El Campo 25th.
Bellville is also predicted to win Region IV over Port Isabel. In District 25-3A, the top four teams are predicted to be Bellville, El Campo, Sealy and Wharton.
The returning 25-3A stat leader in rushing is Bellville's own Lakieath Nunn with 1,038 yards and 13 TD's.
